accountability groups

accountability groups, success

For the most part, I am a solopreneur.

On the other hand, I rely on a number of people in my life who have become my ‘board of directors’ of sorts.  Through various accountability and collaborative groups that I’ve participated in over the years, I’ve strengthened friendships, made measurable progress towards goals, and continue to grow thanks to the support I’ve received.

Do I Have to “Brand” My Email Address?

branded email address, digital marketing

Well, technically, no – you don’t HAVE to have an email address which includes your domain, BUT – it is really a good idea to use one.

Think about it – If you were interested in hiring an attorney and you were given a choice between jsmith@smithlawllp.com or wesueforyou@yahoo.com – –  which would you be drawn to contact first? Most consumers would say that a company branded email gives the appearance of being more credible than one using a free email account.

Here are 3 Great Reasons to Brand Your Email.

I refer to this as putting the foundation under the business owner’s marketing efforts.

Being empowered with knowledge of how it all fits together is the platform for a strong, effective digital presence.

But – Here’s the one thing I know for sure – You simply can not do it all at one time. Read more

I am often asked (usually by men), “Why a women-only networking group?”

In my mind, I am thinking – “If you have to ask, you just don’t understand”

women business owners network differentlyI’ve been involved in women’s business networking for over 12 years now. I have found it to be profoundly helpful in so many ways. I’ve fostered real and lasting relationships on both personal and professional levels.  These relationships have brought tangible value to my personal and professional growth. It has been my experience that when women network professionally, they tote along their personal selves as well.

We simply are able to get to the “Know-Like-Trust” factor that much faster.

are you listening to your audience?

Social listening (also called media monitoring) is about spending time online and on social platforms to see what’s being said about areas that have to do with your industry.

Follow other businesses that are similar to yours. Keep up with industry-specific hashtags, as well as trending topics to see what people are talking about. Listen to what your own contacts are talking about. Offer helpful advice to challenges they are facing. Then, work these topics in to your marketing strategies.

Here’s an example of someone who mastered social listening:
