In Their Words:

Authentic Action & Genuine Connection: Accountability and Mastermind Program

Website Content, Social Media Strategies, Email Marketing & Analytics For Your Business

In September of 2018, 5 solopreneurs entered an agreement with each other. We would commit to 10 weeks of learning together, supporting each other through our struggles, and sharing our successes with each other.

Our “Kick-Start Accountability Mastermind” program consisted of five 2-hour Zoom conference meetings filled with strategies and information on the strategic and measurable use of digital marketing platforms. The participants received a stack of resources to support their efforts. Each participant entered an agreement with another in the group as an ‘accountability partner” to have daily, brief, strategic conversations designed to identify what 3 steps they would take each and every day to move them closer to the long-term goal they’d identified. Each participant received a number of private digital marketing training sessions to clarify goals and actions necessary to keep their business moving forward.

The program created a container of education and support. The participants became a virtual board of directors for the others in the group.

Here are the comments from the participants of this group:

What made you seek out this program? What problem were you having?

Not knowing where to start, feeling overwhelmed by marketing – so many mixed messages out there about what to do and what not to do. Lacking momentum and feeling snowed under trying to keep up with social media etc.

What were your concerns about using outside services to help you to solve this?

That it would be out of alignment with my values and integrity, so many “experts” are pushing sleazy sales tactics, clickbait and funnels that don’t feel good to me.

Why did you choose to work with me, specifically?

As soon as I met you (or rather heard you introduce yourself at a local networking event), I just knew I had to work with you. You seemed genuine and kind, not pushy or gimmicky.

What did you most enjoy about this group program?

I enjoyed the accountability and check-ins with my partner more than I thought I would. We were a really good fit for each other and were able to help each other out in unexpected ways.

What results did you get from this experience?

I have much more quiet time in my day, not feeling frantic because I have systems in place and chunk marketing activities together. I’m not getting sucked into FB when I want to post in groups because I have a plan in place. I have a better understanding of what to focus on and improve for my messaging.

How do you plan on continuing to grow your digital presence now that this program has completed?

By working on my email onboarding series and getting the word out about my new lead generator. whenever I speak somewhere, I will be able to point them to my mailing list and start nurturing the relationship.

What made you seek out this program? What problem were you having?

When I received an email from Susan Finn describing this program, I immediately thought, “this is a must for me.” I had been struggling with social media, when to post, what to post, how often to post, etc. etc.

What were your concerns about using outside services to help you to solve this?

I really had no concerns about using outside services because they were going to be provided by Susan Finn, a woman I have so much respect for as a person and as a businesswoman.

Why did you choose to work with me, specifically?

“I have great respect for you as a person and for you as a successful businesswoman. You care about your clients. The guidance you provide, even though anyone can take that advice, always seems to be special advice for me.”

What did you most enjoy about this group program?

I loved hearing other’s stories – successes and challenges. I don’t believe in failure, I believe in learning from experience. The group was great. We can all connect on a regular basis as we grow and look for support.

What results did you get from this experience?

I have so many things to work on, but I am not overwhelmed. If I have to, I’ll take baby steps, but I’m finding I’m able to help others with what I’ve learned. Applying everything I learned will take time, but I have made progress implementing many of the things I’ve learned.

How do you plan on continuing to grow your digital presence now that this program has completed?

You gave us a lot of food for thought. The sessions were packed full of information. I could probably describe it as trying to drink water from a fire hose. Ha! I have a list of projects to work on, the first of which is to post on Facebook three times a week. Then I will take my next step, tackle the next item on the list.

What made you seek out this program? What problem were you having?

I heard about the program via an acquaintance and given I’m at the beginning stages of launching a coaching business, I thought it would be helpful. And it was!

What were your concerns about using outside services to help you to solve this?

I did not have any concerns; I was really just looking forward to soaking up knowledge and ideas like a sponge. Between Susan and the other group members, there was plenty to learn from others.

Why did you choose to work with me, specifically?

Referral. And I enjoyed our introductory phone meeting. I find you to be candid and engaging – two qualities that are aces in my book.

What did you most enjoy about this group program?

The camaraderie and collaboration for sure. I love the templates and tools you provided for us. The 1:1 coaching sessions are especially helpful.

What results did you get from this experience?

I’m still working towards my 6-month plan but if not for this group at this time, I would not have launched a Facebook business page, started a blog, designed a logo or begun work on my website. I have a lot more to do but now I know I have the resources to help me do it!

How do you plan on continuing to grow your digital presence now that this program has completed?

As stated, I have a lot more to do. I want to join a mailing list option (like Constant Contact, etc) and eventually start a newsletter. My website is in the very early stages so that is a priority.

What made you seek out this program? What problem were you having?

I needed guidance with email marketing. It was important to find a group of people (women) who would boost my self-confidence. Help push me through the self-doubt.

What were your concerns about using outside services to help you to solve this?

Opening up to “strangers” it was important the group was private. I should not have worried, these strangers I now consider my friends.

Why did you choose to work with me, specifically?

Your patience and kindness, pushing when needed, keeps me focused on the tasks I need to get done.

What did you most enjoy about this group program?

Our support for each other.

What results did you get from this experience?

Staying focused, keeping a list of the 3 priorities of the day, perfection is not necessary. Keep moving forward. And of course email marketing!

How do you plan on continuing to grow your digital presence now that this program has completed?

1. Email marketing
2. Facebook postings
3. Networking
