“We should remember that just as a positive outlook on life can promote
good health, so can everyday acts of kindness.” ~ Hillary Clinton
Are You Wearing ALL the Hats?
“If you love what you do and are willing to do what it takes, it’s within your reach.
And it’ll be worth every minute you spend alone at night, thinking and thinking
about what it is you want to design or build.” ~ Steve Wozniak
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” ~ Barack Obama
Growing up, I just loved comic books. I read Batman, Superman, Lost in Space, Hulk, Captain Marvel. And then, there were the tv characters. Every week I would tune in to watch Adam West as Batman. Of course, I was fascinated by Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Yvonne Craig as Batgirl , and Lynda Carter as Wonderwoman, as I strived to try to figure out where I would fit in when it was time to save the world. Pippi Longstocking’s adventurous spirit fascinated me and I read every one of the Nancy Drew Mysteries books. Just imagine what a young girl could accomplish with focus, determination, spirit and – maybe, just one superpower.
I just read a fantastic post on Inc.com, which tells us that structuring your presentation as a story makes you sound brilliant. This is interesting to me, because I just love bullet points. I usually post my content with lots of bullets in order to keep my ideas in some sort of order.
Well, I actually do have a story to tell about email marketing /newsletters. I suppose it will be more interesting as a story, so here goes:
Let me tell you a story about two small businesses.
Seriously, in your experience, does anyone really actually look forward to receiving email newsletters? Probably most people do not. ( Well, I sometimes do because I love to see what my clients and networks are up to. ) But, don’t despair. Armed with a supply of knowledge, tips and tools, you can keep your own email newsletters from becoming cyber-trash.
It’s been reported that over 42% of subscribers are more likely to purchase or use services from a company after they’ve subscribed to their emails. Also, email newsletters are a great touch-point to remind your contacts about your mere existence! There’s no real downside to sending out newsletters. BUT – be sure that when you do, that you use common sense, be careful with your language and avoid being spammy. Even this alone should help keep your subscription results positive.
This month, I have collected some of my favorite articles on the topic of email marketing. I hope that you will find them a useful resource for your business.
My intent is that you will find the content in these monthly newsletters both helpful and inspiring.
